‘Yathandwa ndim’: Siya Kolisi celebrates wife Rachel’s birthday

Springbok captain Siya Kolisi took to Instagram on Saturday 21 January to celebrate his wife Rachel Kolisi’s birthday.

SIYA KOLISI CELEBRATES WIFE’S BIRTHDAY
Springbok captain Siya Kolisi shared a short and sweet birthday tribute to his wife Rachel on her birthday on 21 January. In the birthday post, the pair are seen wearing traditional wear. Rachel was born in 1990. So, she turned 33 years old, a year older than Siya.
“Happy birthday my love @rachelkolisi ! Yathandwa ndim ❤️,” he wrote.
The rugby star shared several posts leading up to his wife’s birthday. The day before he posted a snap of her with the caption “birthday tomorrow 😍 @rachelkolisi”.
A few days earlier Siya took to Instagram to celebrate his Scrabble victory against his wife and mentioned her birthday week as he joked with her.
“Not the best way to start your birthday week @rachelkolisi 😂 losing in a scrabble game but uzobaryt Mariri Qina!,” he wrote.
“So seldom he wins he had to post about it 😂,” she commented.

INSIDE THE RUGBY STAR AND RACHEL KOLISI’S RELATIONSHIP
According to Wedding ETC, Rachel met Siya at a dinner party in Stellenbosch, Western Cape back in 2012. The Springbok captain revealed that he asked her to lunch to tell her that he liked her but she played hard to get at first.
“I knew I liked her and had to tell her, It was scary. I asked her to lunch and that’s when I told her. She played hard to get in the beginning, but eventually admitted it as well. The rest is history,” wrote Siya on their wedding website.
In 2014, the pair adopted Siya’s younger siblings Liyema and Liphelo. The Springbok captain shares a mother with his two siblings, who unfortunately passed away in 2009 which left the siblings bouncing from orphanages to foster homes.
The pair welcomed their first child together – Nicholas Siyamthanda in 2015. Siya asked Rachel to marry him in a helicopter in December 2015. In 2017, the pair welcomed their second child Keziah.
