‘Yoh, Xhosa people steal’: Somizi on why he won’t date Vusi Nova & others
Tweeps are convinced Somizi Mhlongo took an aim at his estranged husband Mohale Motaung in a video he made with Vusi Nova.

South African singer Vusi Nova confessed the reasons why he would never date media personality Somizi Mhlongo in an Instagram video on 3 April.
VUSI NOVA CALLS SOMIZI ‘NEEDY, CLINGY AND STINGY’
Somizi Mhlongo and Vusi Nova sparked relationship rumours after the amount of time they spent together from 2020. The pair went on several “bestoecations” in 2021 further sparking romance rumours.
Somizi and Vusi have since admitted that they would not date. Vusi says the Idols SA judge is too clingy, needy and stingy for him.
“You are needy, clingy, stingy as well,” said Vusi.
Somizi says Vusi is not his type because he is Xhosa and “Xhosa people steal”.
“You’re not my type,” he said,
“Tell them,” responded Vusi.
“I would never date a Xhosa person. Y’all are wicked. You, Xhosa people steal,” he continued.
“You’ve met the wrong ones. I know who you are referring too,” said Vusi.
“I won’t date a Xhosa person, never,” says Somizi after asking Vusi who he was speaking about.

WAS THIS A JAB AT MOHALE?
Tweeps seemed to think Somizi was referring to his estranged husband Mohale Motaung.
The media personality and Mohale announced their divorce in August 2021, following abuse allegations. Mohale accused Somizi of physically and psychologically abusing him.
“I took my keys and walked out, he took a knife. I was about to exit, so he said to me, ‘if you exit… I’m going to kill us both.’ So I took my keys and ran. He grabbed the knife and said ‘if you walk out, I’m going to stab you.’ Now I see a different person. I was sh*t scared and walked back into the house. He said ‘let’s talk.’ He cried and we moved on,” said Mohale in audio clips leaked by Sunday World.
