This week, Twitter CEO Elon Musk rolled out his latest changes of removing verified blue ticks for non-paying users on the platform.

But while many celebs have refused to make Elon any richer, others are quietly paying R200 per month to ensure their social media status.

PRINCE KAYBEE FLAUNTS HIS TWITTER BLUE TICK

On his Twitter account, Prince Kaybee boasted about keeping his verified account.

Replying to singer Khaya Mthethwa bemoaning the new change, the music mogul replied: “I can’t relate.”

Unlike Kaybee, many South African celebrities have decided to hijack Twitter’s new payment plan. However, doing so has cast doubt over their social media authentication.

It’s unclear when Prince Kaybee received his Twitter blue tick. In 2021, the DJ voiced his annoyance over his female industry colleague Uncle Waffles receiving her verification before his.

“They give it to upcoming artists”, he shadily tweeted at the time.
