After seeing the latest pictures taken after the Metro FM awards over the weekend, Twitter users were quick to notice that AKA—real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes’ grave tombstone appeared to be facing a different direction which left them scratching their heads.

‘ROTATED?’: TWITTER USERS REACT TO THE LATEST PICTURES OF AKA’S GRAVE

AKA was gunned down on 10 February after dining with his friends at Wish restaurant on Florida Road, Durban. His close friend, celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane also died on the scene. The Motsoane family honoured their son with a special send-off ceremony on 16 February at Sacred Heart College in Observatory, in Johannesburg, and held a private funeral for his final send-off, IOL reported.

The Forbes family held a public memorial service for AKA at Sandton Convention Centre.

According to TimesLIVE, the slain rapper was laid to rest in a private ceremony at Heroes Acres, at the Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg on 18 February. Only close friends and family members were welcomed at the funeral to bid AKA their last goodbyes. According to ZiMoja, the Forbes family wanted to keep the funeral strictly private with no streaming and media.

However, a guest did leak a quick snap from the rapper’s funeral and fans got a glimpse of AKA’s grave and tombstone which was displayed across from his fresh grave.

After seeing the latest pictures of AKA’s childhood friend, Sim Dope standing next to the late rapper’s tombstone recently, Twitter users were confused as to why AKA’s tombstone appeared to be relocated or rotated.

However, “The Megacy” stepped in to clear them on their confusion and resurfaced pictures from the funeral. They informed the Tweeps that AKA’s tombstone had not been installed at his send-off hence the background appears to be different

According to the Memorial of Distinction website, among several other reasons, it was explained that the ground would first need to settle before erecting a tombstone. It was said that “If a headstone is placed in sinking ground, then it is likely to lean forward.”

“But people still went and took pics at the grave remember? The pics still had the road in the background. Some are saying the tombstone has been rotated though,” @KagiSpeaks commented.

“Did they somehow go bury aka somewhere else?” @Nobuhle42060203 wondered.

“Left frame motorway behind the grave, right frame its grass. How’s that possible,” @giyani1977 asked.

“I read that too but my understanding is that they only pour concrete etc but to fully rotate the tombstone? Aren’t heads and feet supposed to face the same way for all graves?” @KagiSpoeaks replied.
