South African-born comedian Trevor Noah topped the Twitter trends list on Monday 5 September after The Daily Show shared a clip of him speaking about racism in South Africa compared to the US.

The Daily Show’s official Twitter page shared a clip of Trevor Noah discussing the difference between racism in South Africa and the US. The tweet was a repost from 28 April this year.
So, a person from the audience asked Trevor what is the difference between racism in South Africa and racism in the US.
“I think the biggest difference between racism in America and racism in South Africa is I find that I find that South African racism is and was a lot more blatant. And so there is more of an acknowledgement of it as an idea,” he said.
“But I often think that was the greatest gift the aparatheid government gave us is that it was there, it was happening to you. It wasn’t hidden. Do you know what I mean?” he continued.
He went on to explain that in South Africa it was known that what was happening was racism. However, he said that in the US people had to be detectives of their own racism. Take a look…
