Tito Mboweni is fast becoming confident in his culinary skills – so much so that he thinks he is up for a cook-off challenge!

The former minister of finance – whose dishes have left much to be desired by tweeps – has accepted an invitation to face off Terry Pheto in the kitchen.

And he clearly thinks he has what it takes to win, if his tweets are anything to go by.

TITO MBOWENI UP FOR COOK-OFF CHALLENGE

Tito Mboweni made clear his intentions after retweeting an image of a delicacy dish prepared by another actress; Florence Masebe.

The meal featured a local Limpopo delicacy of fried flying termites; something that tweeps were also not too fond of.

Tito Mboweni approved though, tweeting: “I understand that ⁦@FloMasebe ⁩ prepared this for her guests this evening. Beautiful! I was not invited”.

His post attracted the attention of the soapie actress who promised to send him a bag of the insects to prepare at home.

Tito Mboweni also snuck in a bit of trash talk to his domestic opponent, Terry Pheto.

He added: “At least ⁦@FloMasebe cooked something. But ⁦@TerryPheto has been threatening to challenge me on cooking. Results: Dololo! No follow up!”.

ANOTHER DISH GOES DOWN IN FLAMES

Meanwhile Tito Mboweni has teased another disastrous looking dish prepared in his kitchen

The politician tweeted pictures of his “gravy a la Kasi!” which contained a shocking amount of yellow and green peppers and tomatoes.

“Not bad actually”, Tito captioned the tweet.

However his followers thought he was “delusional”

“Actually worse malume Tito. You are back to your old ways”

“Tomato wedges stew”

“It looks like you were using an axe to cut the vegetable”
