Thuli Phongolo had been mum online since her drama with DJ Maphorisa. In a video posted recently online, she was seen smiling again.

After deleting all her Instagram posts and disappearing from the social media platform, the former Generations: The Legacy actress-turned-deejay Thulisile ‘Thuli’ Phongolo returned online and posted videos in the studio with another popular musician.

WHAT WAS THULI PHONGOLO DOING IN THE STUDIO?

In a muted video shared on her Instagram Stories, Phongolo can be seen behind the mic singing. In the next slide, she shows off the large group of friends and artists seated with her in the studio. Thereafter, in another slide, Phongolo can be seen reacting with a laughing emoji as she pokes fun at what music producer Given Zulu was saying in the video.

“And she plays the bands too, dog, like sh*i! Move with me, you know what I’m saying. God damn! Oh, God,” the producer can be heard saying.

In the video, Phongolo and some of the friends and artists in the studio could also be heard breaking into a chuckle. After posting the videos on her feed, Phongolo then addressed her online followers who couldn’t wait for the song she was recording to be released and said,

“Guys, it’s barely a verse or even a full line…release what?”

THE ACTRESS-TURNED-DJ AND HER RECENT DRAMA WITH HER BOYFRIEND

After getting into a fight with her boyfriend, a case related to physical abuse was opened at the Sandton Police Station earlier this month. Phongoloi was said to have claimed she was assaulted by her boyfriend DJ Maphorisa—real name Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe. The following day, DJ Maphorisa appeared before the court to plead his case.

According to Daily Sun, the judge prosecuting the case demanded that the couple stayed away from each other. A few days later, the couple took to their social media and posted a joint statement that has since been deleted on both of their feeds.

“Being public figures, it is unavoidable that the public, media, and their respective commercial partners all have an interest in this matter. It is the desire of both parties to return to their respective fields of work following the now-concluded private resolution of this matter. Neither of the parties has any intention to allow this private matter to impact their respective, or the other party’s brand and professional interests,” the statement read.

“The matter has received mixed public attention, causing a great deal of emotional stress on both parties involved. It is on this basis that the parties have since elected to resolve this matter privately through their respective management and legal teams. Consequently, Phongolo has since withdrawn the charges laid against Sekowe at the SAPS, Sandton Station.”

“It is the desire of both parties to return to their respective fields of work following the now concluded private resolution of this matter. Neither of the parties has any intention to allow this private matter to impact their respective, or the other party’s brand and professional interests. They request the public to give them the time and space to return to their work unhindered.”
