Mbali Mavimbela: ‘I’m close to making my first million’ [WATCH]

Former ‘Skeem Saam’ actress Mbalenhle ‘Mbali’ Mavimbela, who plays Hlomu Zulu in ‘The Wife’ reveals she’s close to becoming a millionaire.

Talented actress and businesswoman Mbalenhle “Mbali” Mavimbela, who is returning to the third and final season of The Wife for her lead role as Hlomu opens up about her journey in the entertainment industry and becoming a millionaire.

MBALI MAVIMBELA: ‘I HAVE A CHANCE TO BECOME A MILLIONAIRE’  

Former Skeem Saam actress Mbalenhle “Mbali” Mavimbela, who plays Hlomu Zulu in The Wife reveals that she’s close to becoming a millionaire on Kaya 959 Breakfast with Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka.  

Dineo: “We are talking about being a millionaire. Have you made your first million?”  

Mbali: “I still have a chance to become a millionaire, I haven’t made my first million, maybe next year. I think I very am close.”  

Sol: “Good, I am sure the show is paying max there by The Wife.”   

Mavimbela also discusses her plans for the future and reveals she could not study film and television as she didn’t have funds.  

“I made sure that I hung out with the drama students because I didn’t have the funds to study film and television.”  

She also tells the Kaya Breakfast team that her raunchy scene with Bonko Khoza on season one of The Wife was actually her “first intimate scene.”  

But, because she had already built a relationship with her co-star, they were comfortable with one another. Mbalenhle aims to “understand the business side of acting and figure out how can she monetize her fame.”

NEW CAST IN ‘THE WIFE’ SEASON THREE  

The Wife producers revealed to Sowetan that there’ll be a shift in the storyline for season three. We’ll see the show extending from the Joburg taxi industry to Royal Thabeng and the North West.    

Actor-musician Stoan Seate will play Sefako, Qhawe’s rival for Naledi, and former The Queen actress Motsoaledi Setumo will play Motloung’s older daughter and Naledi’s sister Tshidi.    

Other stars joining the award-winning telenovela include; SAFTA-nominated actor Mathews Rantsoma, who will play the character of Tsietsi, Lungelo Mpangase as Xoli, and Terrence Ngwila as Detective Baloyi.
