Actor Lawrence Maleka: ‘I should be married’ [WATCH]

Former ‘The River’ actor and ‘Big Brother Mzansi’ host Lawrence Maleka opens up about his upbringing, career and love life.

Big Brother Titans host Lawrence Maleka, who exited The River as Zolani has made it clear he’s single after rumours he’s a married man.

LAWRENCE MALEKA: ‘IT STARTED WITH MY COUSIN’

The TV personality Lawrence Maleka opened up about his upbringing, career, and love life in an interview with The King’s Cast, hosted by Sphectacula and DJ Naves. Maleka adds that people usually assume he’s off the market because of the ring on his finger. 

TshisaLIVE reports, the admits says rumours of him being married began with his cousin. Zenokuhle Maseko, who stars in The Estate and played Mbali in The River.

We got really close. She’s a good person and we hung out, and then we found out that we are family. That’s where it developed. We would spend a lot of time together off-screen. She’s a social media person and every time we hung out she would post. So everyone assumed me and Zeno are a couple. She’s like my baby sister.”

The award-winning actor and TV host reveals he just came out of a relationship and adds: ”Let me put it this way, I should be married. I’m that guy, I’m a family-orientated guy.”

EXITING ‘THE RIVER’ AS ZOLANI 

The former The River actor, who played fan-favourite character Zolani Dlamini for five seasons exited the 1Magic telenovela in February, ahead of season six. 

News24 reports that Maleka is grateful for the support he has received in the show’s past five seasons. He penned a heartfelt message to his supporters after his character was laid to rest.

“To the fans, those who gave me the confidence to stick with it, those who encouraged my perfect blend of self-delusion and ego to think I can succeed where others have failed, those who vote, like, retweet, and pray for me, I thank you. You celebrate me because I am of you,” he continued. “I love you all.”
