Following the news that notorious hitman Fisokuhle Ntuli has been implicated in former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa’s death on Monday 18 October, Tweeps think he had no personal motive and have begun speculating who may have actually hired him for the 2014 hit.
KwaZulu-Natal hitman Fisokuhle Ntuli has been implicated in the murder of six people including Senzo Meyiwa. He was convicted of the murders at the Esikhaleni Regional Court on Monday 18 October.
Following the news, Senzo Meyiwa began to trend on Twitter. Tweeps feel as though there is a new lead in the former Bafana Bafana’s captain’s case as the anniversary of his death is approaching this month.
Senzo was killed in an armed robbery at the home of singer Kelly Khumalo, his then girlfriend and the mother of his child, on 26 October 2014.
Kelly Khumalo often trends as Tweeps also speculate that she may have been a suspect.
A leaked National Prosecuting Agency (NPA) document stated that the Kelly’s cellphone records were of interest as they suspect she may have been in contact with one of the “newly-arrested” suspects in 2020.
This was also around the time of Senzo’s death.
However, she responded via a statement by her lawyer. She also claimed that she did not know the murder suspects.
“Our client notes the recent developments of which at this sad time allowed her the opportunity to remain private in the best interest of herself and children especially that of the daughter she has with Mr Meyiwa. We wish to place it on record that our client is not implicated nor charged in this matter and is therefore not a suspect,” read the statement.
Tweeps also feel that if Senzo was killed by a hitman, the hitman had no motive to kill him. Tweeps then began to speculate who wanted him dead.
In the above tweet, Twitter users think it may have been Senzo’s then wife Mandisa Mkhize; Kelly or anyone else close to him. This mainly because Kelly and Senzo had an adulterous relationship while he was married.
In an episode of Life With Kelly Khumalo, the singer revealed that she only found out that Senzo was married when she was three months pregnant with their daughter, Thingo.
For this reason Twitter detectives also suspect his wife.
