Back row royals: Prince Harry and Meghan’s place at coronation

With no ‘immediate decision’ about their coronation attendance yet, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will most likely be back row royals.

Should they decide to attend King Charles III coronation, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony, The Sun report.

DUKE AND DUCHESS OF SUSSEX MIGHT BE BACK ROW ROYALS

According to The Sun the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited to attend the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey on 6 May.

The couple reportedly is however yet to confirm their attendance.

As per the publication “an immediate decision will not be disclosed” at this time.

Prince Harry and Meghan have previously set out their demands for attending the event. They insisted on appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony along with other senior members of the family.

Instead they might be back row royal as was the case at the Queen’s Thanksgiving Ceremony last June.

The publication reports that the couple is not expected to have any formal role in the ceremony.

Harry and Meg will not be involved in any family procession or appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony to greet thousands of well-wishers in The Mall.

But a palace insider did tell The Sun that negotiations are underway.

Harry and Meghan are reportedly also demanding the inclusion of their children in the guest list for the service.

They also reportedly wants to join senior members of the royal family on the Buckingham Palace balcony after the service, a source tells OK!.

According to The Mirror, the Sussex kids’ attendance has “never been a bone of contention.”

As source told the publication that small children cannot attend a coronation “due to restlessness and tantrums.”

A Palace insider told OK! that the couples failure to officially accept their invitation until their demands are met could plunge the entire event into chaos.

“The Palace are trying to wrap up negotiations as quickly as possible because they can’t go right up to the wire. It could lead to chaos.”

“It could very well be that it ends in stalemate, and they won’t attend. But the Palace is doing everything in its power to not let that happen,” the source told the publication..
