‘Clarity and healing’: Riky Rick’s mom honours his life with a book
Riky Rick’s mother Louisa Zondo took to her social media to announce that she has a book out in honour of her son.

After grieving the death of her son in 2022, the late South African rapper Riky Rick—real name Rikhado Muziwendlovu Makhado, Louisa Zondo took to Instagram to announce that she had finally completed writing her book.

She said her book was titled Dearest MaRiky: A Mother’s Journey through Grief, Trauma and Healing and that it documented her grief after losing her son.
Riky Rick died on 23 February 2022 after committing suicide when he was just 34. He was rumoured to have had a long history of depression.
Taking to her timelines, Zondo said,
“Telling my story in this book gave me clarity and healing on many fronts. May we never stop telling our stories.”

As she announced the news about her book release, Zondo also expressed her appreciation to be able to share her side of the story, and said,
“I’m filled with gratitude. Finally, I have started to tell the story of my life.”

THE LATE RAPPER’S FOUNDATION
Riky Rick’s family has kept his name alive in another special way. According to Gagasi World, Ricky Foundation, a non-profit organisation was established in honour of the late rapper’s memory.
Taking to Twitter in March, on the organisation’s official page, the rapper’s family announced the organisation’s official launch and said,
“The Riky Rick Foundation was formed in honouring Riky’s legacy which is to help people shine.”
According to the publication, Riky Rick was described as someone who was involved in educating other young creatives about creative freedom. The organisation was also reportedly formed to promote activism in communities.
