Prayers for ‘Khula’ hitmakers Bello no Gallo following car crash

Gqom’ duo Bello no Gallo, real names Sabelo Mkhize and Zakhele Mthethwa were involved in a horrific car accident on Sunday 30 October, Daily Sun reports.

The KwaZulu-Natal-based musicians were on their way from Eswatini when the accident happened in Hluhluwe, KZN.

Although not giving much detail, Bello no Gallo’s manager Simphiwe Mkhize told the publication that they are praying for the artists’ speedy recovery.

“They were coming from Swaziland where they were performing on Saturday. On Sunday morning, I spoke to them and they told me they were on their way back,” Simphiwe said.

He further explained that he learned of the accident on Sunday afternoon although it happened in the morning.

“I received a call from their driver informing me they were involved in an accident. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get all the details as the phone died. I also couldn’t get hold of the artists as their phones were off. But I saw their damaged car on Facebook. As we speak, I still don’t have full details of what happened and am still trying to locate them,” said Simphiwe.

On the Khula hitmakers’ Instagram, a picture of the damaged car, as well as a picture of the artists receiving first aid assistance inside the ambulance, was shared.

Following the post, their fans wished them a speedy recovery in the comments section.


Earlier this month, Bello no Gallo took to their social media to tease theit new somg with Afrotainment boss and producer, DJ Tira.

The entertainment, who made it into the top five of the Ukhozi FM song of the year top 10, also spoke to Daily News when the year began to thank fans for the support, promising them more hits.

“We did not expect to be received with such warmth as the newcomers and small players in the industry. We are truly grateful and plan to not disappoint our fans. This is why the next single must be a hit so that we remain constant.”
