Cause of death? Police open inquest into Costa Titch’s death

Police have reportedly opened an inquest into the death of musician Costa Titch, who passed away during a performance at Ultra.

Police have confirmed that they have opened an inquest into musician and Amapiano star Costa Titch’s death — according to a report by SABC News.

Costa Tsobanoglou, popularly known as Costa Titch passed away at the Johannesburg Ultra Music Festival on Saturday night (11 March).

POLICE OPEN INQUEST INTO COSTA TITCH’S DEATH

Costa Titch tragically passed away at the Ultra Music Festival held in Johannesburg, Gauteng at the Expo Centre on Saturday 11 March. The musician was only 28 years old at the time of his death.

SABC News reports that police have confirmed that they opened an inquest into the Super Soft hitmaker’s death.

“We can confirm that the police in SAPS Booysen have registered a case of inquest following the death of 28-year-old Mr Costa Tsobanoglou on 11 March 2023. It is reported that Tsobanoglou collapsed while he was performing at the Ultra South Africa concert at Nasrec,” read a statement according to SABC News.

“Post-mortem will determine the cause of death,” the statement continued.

Weekend Argus reported that the cause of death is yet to be confirmed but there is speculation that the musician had a seizure possibly triggered by the flashing lights. The musician was known to have suffered from epilepsy –  A condition that affects the brain and causes seizures.

A LOOK AT THE STAR’S CAREER

According to Briefly, Costa Titch began his career in the music industry at the age of 15, along with his best friend Benny Chill. He is originally from Mpumalanga but moved to Johannesburg in 2014 to pursue a career in as a dancer. He then joined New Age Steez crew dance crew with Tumi Tladi and Phantom Steeze.

However, his rapping skills may have been even better than his dance moves. The musician shot to fame after the release of his song Activate. He released his album Made in Africa in 2020. In 2021, he released a joint album with rapper AKA titled You’re Welcome. This was followed by the album Big Flexa in 2022.
