Penuel Mlotshwa, aka “Penuel the Black Pen,” has shared an interesting outcome to a tweet that recently went viral about auctioning off a pair of old, dirty sneakers for charity.

Not only did the outspoken podcaster manage to sell his worn shoes, but he also used the money to buy 20 new pairs for underprivileged kids.

PENUEL RECEIVES 50 OFFERS FOR OLD ADIDAS SNEAKERS

Last month, Penuel tweeted about how he would wear his Adidas Samba sneakers for the last time.

He posted: “A 4-year love affair ends today”.

He continued: “Gonna sell them to the highest bidder & use the proceeds to buy shoes for a few underprivileged kids. DM me if you’d like to buy them”.

But while Twitter users were amused – and disgusted – about his decision, Penuel had the last laugh.

In an update on Saturday, 12 August, the YouTube star revealed how he had received 50 offers to purchase the sneakers.

“I eventually sold them to a gentleman named Chris Manemela,” he tweeted.

Although Penuel did not disclose how much he received for is old sneakers, he did claim it was enough to help many disadvantaged children.

He added: “With the proceeds, along with donations from myself and some friends, we bought 20 black sneakers for the kids at eMthonjeni Centre in Zandspruit Township.”

Sharing a pic of the children’s beaming faces, he added: “I’m thankful to everyone who made them [the old sneakers] trend, and the kind hearts that made this magic happen. Let’s create more of these stories”.
