With the possibility of serving the remainder of his murder sentence outside of prison, Oscar Pistorius is preparing to adjust to a “new normal” following a parole bid.

And for the former millionaire star athlete, that means starting from scratch – with a job!

On Friday, 31 March, Oscar will appear in a parole hearing, which will determine whether he is deserving of an early release.

Pistorius has become eligible for parole after serving half of his 13-year and five-month sentence for the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp in 2013.

Luckily for Oscar, a company has already offered him full-time employment. Speaking to Netwerk24, Arnold said of his nephew’s new career path: “He will go to work – 8 to 5. He will get dressed in the morning and go to work.

“But first, we have to teach him again, like eating with a knife and fork again.”

While Arnold refused to reveal the company’s name, it is a well-known fact that he owns his own business, Twin City- which focuses on developing, letting, and managing commercial properties around South Africa.

According to The Richest, Oscar had a net worth of $5 million (over R90 million) thanks to a lucrative sporting career and endorsements.

But in 2016, his lawyer Barry Roux told the Pretoria High court that the star athlete was “broke.”

Oscar – known for his sprawling Pretoria mansion and multiple fast cars – sold much of his assets due to legal fees associated with his murder trial. According to eNCA, his high-profile court case cost him R100 000 in fees daily!
