Veteran talk show host Oprah Winfrey expressed that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle can make peace with the royal family following the death of Queen Elizabeth II – in an interview with Extra on Monday 12 September.

TALK SHOW QUEEN OPRAH WINFREY ON ROYAL FAMILY

Oprah Winfrey thinks that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle can make peace with the royal family. This comes after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Buckingham Palace announced that Her Majesty passed away peacefully in Balmoral Castle, Scotland on Thursday 8 September. Oprah previously had a bombshell sit-down interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in March 2021.

In the interview, Meghan revealed that she had suicidal thoughts after joining the royal family. She went on to claim that Buckingham Palace did nothing to support her mental health when she went to them with it. Meghan, who is biracial, also claimed that there were concerns over her son Archie’s skin-colour.

However, Oprah said that families usually get together after loved ones have passed away. She reflected on the loss of her own father and said that there is hope for the pair to make peace with the royal family. Oprah’s father Vernon Winfrey passed away on 8 July

“This is what I think, I think in all families — you know, my father passed recently, this summer — and when all families come together for a common ceremony, the ritual of, you know, burying your dead, there’s an opportunity for peacemaking,” she said to Extra.

“Hopefully, there will be that,” she continued.
