Bob Marley’s 31-year-old grandson musician Joseph “Jo Mersa” Marley was found dead in his car in Miami-Dade Country on 26 December. The cause of death has not been confirmed. However, WZPP Radio reported that the “Burn It Down” singer passed away from an asthma attack on Sunday.
ETERNAL: A SHORT BACKGROUND OF JOSEPH MARLEY
Jo Mersa was a popular reggae musician in his own right. According to Rolling Stone, his music history was embedded in his blood. He began writing his own music at an early age and released his first official song My Girl in 2010. In 2016 he joined his father on the song Revelation Part 2: The fruit of life.
His other projects involved his single debut EP, Comfortable and his most recent project Eternal.
In an interview with the US report, Marley admitted that growing up in a musical family was challenging. He was born in Jamaica and ended up moving to Miami shortly after he turned 11 years old.

“I come home and try to do homework, but I’d end up getting distracted and go peek in the studio. You would always want to run in and run out to see what’s going on,” he said quoted in the report.

Jamaican politician and president of the People’s National Party Mark J. Golding mourned for Marley on Twitter and wrote,
“I’ve just learned of the tragic loss of Joseph ‘Jo Mersa’ Marley. A talented young reggae artiste, son of Stephen Marley and grandson of Bob Marley at 31 years old. The loss of a child is a devastating blow and no parent should face. My condolences to Stephen and the entire family.”

Paying tribute to the musician, Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness also penned,
“I am deeply saddened by the news that artiste Joseph Marley, son of Reggae star, Stephen Marley and grandson of Reggae super star, Bob Marley has died.”
“May he find Eternal Peace as we mourn his loss during this season of goodwill,” he added.
