National Shutdown: Celebs slam Fikile Mbalula for ‘flop’ comment
‘Y’all are letting the country down’: ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula’s comments about the #NationalShutdown received heavy backlash.

African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Fikile Mbalula is feeling the wrath of angry South Africans, including celebrities, after his comment on Twitter about the National Shutdown on Monday, 20 March.
The National Shutdown, which is organised by the opposition party Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), is to protest against the energy crisis in South Africa and to demand that President Cyril Ramaphosa steps down.

FIKILE CALLS THE NATIONAL SHUTDOWN A FLOP
The former minister of transport took to his Twitter account to label the National Shutdown a “flop”.
In another tweet, Mbalula said: “EFF plans of shutdown in our country through chaos has failed they are left isolated in many parts of the country their attempt to insight insurrection by using electricity crisis has failed. Thank you bantu bomzantsi.”

SOUTH AFRICANS REACT
However, South Africans were not having any of Mbalula’s views as they slammed him and the ANC for failing to lead.

Media personality Ayanda Thabethe commented: “[The] biggest flop is a party having to feel like they have to resort to this in order to get basic service delivery for the people – biggest flop is having enough resources to fight a shutdown but not enough resources to do the same to make this country safe.”
Radio and podcast presenter Sol Ohenduka responded: “Even if it is, the reasons for the shutdown are valid . It being a so-called “flop“ doesn’t vindicate the ANC leadership. Y’all are letting the country down. Seriously!”
Twitter user @Lebolebo__ said: “Flop is the deployment of 3500 soldiers for nothing but can’t do the same for killers and rapists.”

Another Twitter user, @Zide_Bukiwe replied: “The biggest flop is your government sanalam because there was never going to be a shutdown if you were serious about your jobs and about the future of this country. Inokba Thula bro you are embarrassing yourself.”
