Slee has a 15-year-old daughter, Bayanda, and 11-year-old Enhle.

In a March interview with News24, she was quoted as saying: “So, I had to sacrifice for them to have a great life, but every other weekend they would see me and come up to Joburg to visit me… I did not dump my kids for a man. I dumped my kids because I wanted to put food on the table. In hindsight, I could have done things differently. I know that.”

Taking to her Instagram stories, Slee said there had been salacious and damaging reports about her kids and her relationships.

“I did not abandon my children. Following my divorce, my ex and I felt that it was best not disrupt our children’s lives any further.

“The decision for them to stay with their father in a home that they grew up in and with a community that they were comfortable in was critical to maintaining some normalcy,” she said.

Slee expressed that she regrets the time she lost with her daughter, but refuted abandoning them to go be with a man or that she was not in their lives at all. She also explained that she co-parented with both her ex-partners.

“The bone of contention relates to the vicious rumours that have now impacted several families. Our children are being asked embarrassing questions by their peers and school friends,” she said.

Slee also said that there were unfounded rumours doing the rounds that she and the late Mrs Zungu were related.

“The memory of a woman is being disrespected by people who thrive on gossip. Mrs. Zungu, may her soul rest in peace, is not my blood relative neither are we related in anyway except through knowing her family after her passing. It is with a clear conscience that I own my relationship with my ex and furiously state discredit any such claims.”
