Somizi Mhlongo’s estranged husband Mohale Motaung took to Twitter yesterday to respond to tweep’s questions about his marriage to the choreographer not being registered with the department of home affairs.

‘THE DAY I BUMP INTO ANGIE MOTSHEKGA’: MOHALE MOTAUNG

The former Rhythm City actor Mohale Motaung responded to tweep’s questions about his marriage to Somizi Mhlongo not unregistered with home affairs on his social media.

This is after he trended all day on Sunday (15 May) after City Press revealed that his marriage to the Idols SA was not legal.

It all began when a tweep tagged him in a tweet that read:

“How can you forget to sign? You fumbled the bag.”

To which he replied:

“The day I bump into Angie Motshekga.”

Another tweep @sanproudly then explained what he meant when his tweet got lost in translation.

“Education system is fu**ed up.”

According to this tweep, Motaung meant that he didn’t get the proper education to understand that he needed to sign the marriage certificate to secure the bag from Somizi.

HE AND SOMIZI ARE NOT LEGALLY MARRIED

Mzansi was surprised to hear that Somizi Mhlongo and Motaung never legalised their union as the pastor forgot to bring the papers on their wedding day in January 2020.

Sources close to the stars revealed to City Press that the non-existent marriage certificate has caused a delay in their divorce proceedings and that Motaung now has to provide evidence that they were married.

“Their lawyers are in negotiations because there is a large estate at stake here.”

“The biggest issue is that the marriage is not registered and, naturally, it would fall under customary law, but that is something Mohale is struggling with because he is not in possession of a letter proving that lobola was paid for him.”

It was also revealed that Motaung’s family has taken a back seat as they never approved of their relationship and that they forged a front for Mohale’s sake.

The Motaung family even gave Mhlongo his lobola back to him because they did not approve of the union, according to the source
