Just two days after assuring fans that Mark Pilgrim was alive and well, radio station Hot 102.7 FM confirmed the passing of the beloved personality.

Mark tragically died just one year after being diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. He was 53 years old.

The veteran TV and radio star leaves behind two children, Tayla-Jean and Alyssa, with first wife Nicole Torres, as well as fiancee Adrienne Watkins.

HOT 102.7 FM CONFIRMS MARK PILGRIM’S PASSING

The radio station shared the heartbreaking news on its social media platforms.

It said in a statement: “HOT1027 DJ  Mark Pilgrim lost his battle with cancer this morning.

“He fought valiantly to the very end. Mark passed peacefully with his fiancé Adrienne at home.

RADIO LEGENDS REMEMBER STAR

Meanwhile, scores of radio personalities have remembered Mark Pilgrim for his work in the industry, which spanned over three decades.

They included tributes from presenters like Gareth Cliff, Tim Plewman, and Brent Lindeque amongst others.

Gareth Cliff – a former 5FM DJ – shared: “He fought a tough fight and inspired many in the process…and during his many years on radio”.
