Makhadzi launches new record label ‘Makhadzi Entertainment’

After going back and forth with Open Mic Productions, Makhadzi has given the company the middle finger and launched her own record label.

Following her recent drama with the record label Open Mic Productions, on Sunday, 14 May, award-winning musician Makhadzi—real name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona took to Twitter to announce that she had opened up her own record label named Makhadzi Entertainment which had her fans and online followers praising her abundantly.


The MaGear hitmaker has turned her back on Open Mic Productions recently, although not before she dragged their name through the mud on her Twitter account first.

In one of the posts, she wrote,

“Auto-renewal EP loading under Makhadzi entertainment. After 15 years of hard work. I will be getting to know how much I make on sales for the first time in my life. All thanks to everyone who was booking me all these years I was not gonna afford to live.”

And now, Makhadzi has proved her resilience towards Open Mic Productions despite pending contractual issues with the record label. She announced her new record label was officially up and running and said,

“Let me re-introduce myself. My name is makhadzi muimbi from #makhadzientertainment.”

According to Zalebs, the Limpopo-born star has recently missed yet another gig. She was said to have booked to perform at the Dries Niemandt Park in Kempton Park on 30 April. Somizi, Sjava, Young Stunna, DJ Fresh, and DJ Maphorisa were some of the other popular entertainers that were reportedly booked at the event. Makhadzi was reportedly given R80 000 in total for her attendance and performance and was reportedly a no-show.
