On Sunday, 9 April, Idols SA season 11’s top five contestant Lloyiso GIjana took to Instagram to express his excitement as he sparkled on a Times Square billboard in New York which had his online followers amazed and congratulating him abundantly for his success.

The South African star could not contain his enjoyment of witnessing his face on a Times Square billboard and rushed to Instagram to show off the great news.

He shared the exciting news with his fans by posting pictures of the billboard and captioned,

“Mama, I made it to New York Times Square 😭😭🥹🔥!”

According to Fakaza News, the Seasons hitmaker recently dropped his debut EP, which has taken him to international billboards.

In February, rumours of Idols SA coming to an end were confirmed after airing for 19 seasons in its 21-year-old run, News24 reported.

Other contestants and winners who were said to have made household names for themselves in the music and entertainment industry after appearing on the show included season six’s top 10, Gail Mabalane; season 8’s top six, Shekinah; season 11’s top seven, Amanda Black, and season eight’s winner Khaya Mthethwa.
