South African singer Kelly Khumalo is addressing the murder of her ex-boyfriend and “baby daddy” Senzo Meyiwa in season three of her reality series, as seen in the trailer released on Monday 6 June.
KELLY KHUMALO: ‘THEY HATE THAT I DID NOT DIE THAT DAY’
Life With Kelly Khumalo is returning for season three on 5 July. The singer teased her 2.4 million followers with the trailer via an Instagram post on Monday 6 June.
Kelly seems to be addressing the death of her ex-boyfriend, former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa.
“They hate that I did not die that day,” she said in the trailer.
This comes after defence advocate Malesela Teffo – who is defending four of the five hitmen accused of murdering Meyiwa – claimed that he has a witness to testify that Kelly was the one who shot Senzo by mistake.
She will also be addressing her issues with her other “baby daddy”, musician and TV personality Jub Jub. Take a look…
Season three picks up in April 2022 with #KellyKhumalo trending on Twitter again. This comes after the release of a true-crime documentary series on the death of Senzo Meyiwa and his trial about to start.
Despite the ongoing conspiracy theories, Kelly’s career has never been better: her SAMA-nominated album The Voice of Africa went gold, the AFRIMA-nominated Empini became the biggest hit of her career and went quadruple platinum, Esphambanweni went double platinum and Ngathwala Ngaye went platinum.
Season three of Life With Kelly Khumalo shows Kelly at her rawest and most real. Kelly has been viewed as an enigma by many, but this season’s tagline is, “Y’all gon know about me.” As she says in the trailer, “This is my life; this is my truth.”
This season, we’ll see Kelly back where she belongs: on stage, in front of a packed live audience – something that hasn’t been possible since Life With Kelly Khumalo first launched in August 2020.
Fans will also see her working on her most anticipated album yet, while growing her business empire, which already includes Controversy Gin and Kelly Khumalo Skin by Bioquantine.
She’ll also spill the tea on how she really feels about Senzo’s family; Jub-Jub’s Mother’s Day posts on social media; and Brenda Mtambo, not to mention cancel culture.
Kelly is continuing therapy, parenting Christian and Thingo, and working on her relationships with her mother, Ntombi, and sister, Zandi.
