Lerato Kganyago reportedly suing Bathu sneakers for R315k

Brand ambassador and DJ Lerato Kganyago is reportedly demanding R315k of the R600k from Bathu after the brand terminated her contract.

Metro FM DJ Lerato Kganyago is reportedly suing Theo Baloyi – the owner of Bathu sneakers R315k over a brand ambassador deal that’s gone sour.   

Kganyago was an ambassador of Bathu sneakers along with Somizi and Khanyi Mbau and many others.

LERATO KGANYAGO SUES THEO BALOYI  

Sunday World has revealed that radio and TV personality Lerato Kganyo has sent Bathu a letter demanding R315k from Theo Baloyi’s sneaker brand Bathu.  

Kganyago is reportedly demanding R315k of the R600k she was promised to be paid after the brand terminated her contract where she was one of the brand ambassadors.  

The publication adds that Bathu appointed her as brand ambassador for 12 months from March last year.  

She was allegedly expected to attend Bathu stores’ official openings as an ambassador and DJ.  

The agreement reportedly read:

“Ms Kganyago will be required to DJ in the store.”

“Bathu Pty Ltd will arrange DJ equipment of her choosing,” reads the agreement.

“All travel arrangements will be scheduled as per her requirement and will be at Bathu Pty Ltd’s expense.”

BATHU’S BRAND AMBASSADORS   

Lerato was a brand ambassador of Bathu sneakers alongside, Somizi, DJ Tira, Khanyi Mbau, and Lamiez Holworthy.  

Bathu allegedly paid her R285 000 in R185 000 and R35 000 tranches between March and June last year before cutting ties with her.   

The brand informed the media personality that it’d terminated her contract due to budget constraints.  

“As per my communication on the 6th November, please be advised that Bathu Pty Ltd has decided to terminate our contract with Ms Lerato Kganyago.”

“As a business, we have had to cut back on expenses and we have had to terminate numerous contracts with some of our valuable stakeholders such as Ms Lerato Kganyago. “

Kganyago is demanding the gross amount of R315 000.00 which includes legal costs and interest on the aforementioned amount, at a rate of 7.5% per annum.
