Royal author Tom Bower claims that King Charles’ coronation date is not a dig at son Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.

TWEEPS THINK KING CHARLES CORONATION DATE IS A DIG AT PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN

Twitter users seem to think King Charles’ coronation was “cruel” towards his son Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle. This is because the coronation date was set on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son Archie’s fourth birthday – 6 May.

Buckingham Palace announced that the King’s official crowning ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey on 6 May 2023.

So, some Tweeps thought this was a dig at Prince Harry and Meghan.

“So King Charles The Cruel has set his Coronation for the 6th of May next year.. AKA his grandson Prince Archie of Sussex’s 4th birthday. Chile how ghetto. I hate it here. Anyway, Harry when’s that memoir dropping,” tweeted @IrisTheeScholar.

TOM BOWER: ‘ARCHIE’S BIRTHDAY WAS THE LAST THING THEY THOUGHT ABOUT’

Royal author Tom Bower claims that the date of the coronation was “absolutely not” a dig at Prince Harry and Meghan. He said that Archie’s birthday was the last thing they thought about.

“Archie’s birthday was the last thing they thought about,” said Bower to Page Six.

“The date was chosen because it’s just before the state opening of Parliament and Charles will want to appear as King with his crown and the whole ceremonial (robes),” he continued.

Bower also admitted that Palace officials checked the calendar.

“They looked at what was happening in Britain,” he said.

“They didn’t look at what was happening in Montecito (where the Sussex family currently reside). The idea that anyone was concerned with that is nonsense,” he continued.
