After being accused of being a “mean girl,” Young, Famous, and African star Khanyi Mbau has clapped back at producers for portraying her as a “villain.”

The actress and socialite has even claimed that her scenes were “cut and pasted” to suit a certain narrative.

Khanyi and the rest of the Netflix reality series cast have been trending on social media since season two kicked off on Friday, 19 May.

KHANYI MBAU: MEAN GIRL ENERGY?

On Twitter, Khanyi Mbau has been criticised for her bossy, critical, and even condescending scenes in Young, Famous, and African.

This includes shading fellow cast member Bonang Matheba, whom she claimed she was “not friends with.”

In season one, Khanyi was called out for treatment towards Zari Hassan and Annie Idibia.

‘CUT AND PASTE’

Meanwhile, Khanyi Mbau has clapped back at producers for their editing of scenes.

She shared in an Instagram post: “The editors are messy and very spicey.. [they]  made me the villain AGAIN! Editing out pivotal moments that give clarity and deleting real scenes that shared the visuals of my real world, e.g., our children.

She added: “The cuts and pastes of the scenes and the order is completely wrong and made to fit a certain narrative.

Khanyi claimed she was speaking out, as she “let things slide last season.”

She also added that her health had taken a dip during filming.

She continued: “Filming was incredibly hard. I watched the show with one eye open. It was painful. I saw the bad state I was in. I struggled with my speech most of the time and had zoned out 90% of the time”.
