South African singer Kelly Khumalo claimed that she was interviewed “under false pretences” for Netflix’s Senzo: Murder of a Soccer Star doccie – on the latest episode of her reality show which released on Showmax on 9 August.

THE SINGER WEIGHS IN ON THE SENZO MEYIWA DOCCIE

Kelly Khumalo claimed that she was interviewed “under false pretences” for Netflix’s documentary on her “baby daddy” Senzo Meyiwa. Senzo: Murder of a Soccer Star looked into the death of the former Bafana Bafana captain. The five-part documentary released on 7 April.

Kelly claims that she was interviewed for the documentary under false pretences – she was allegedly told that it was for a TV show in the United Kingdom (UK). She said that she had to have her attorney Magdalene Moonsamy intervene.

“But you can’t take that documentary seriously. Remember they knocked at our door and we declined and we had to have Magdalene (attorney) involved? You remember they interviewed me under false pretences and they said it was for a TV show in the UK,” she said on an episode of her reality show Life With Kelly Khumalo.

KELLY ON MEDIA SCRUTINY

Kelly Khumalo’s PR manager came to her home because the media had been reaching out for comment. This came after Advocate Malesela Teffo – who is representing four of the five alleged hitmen accused of murdering Senzo–  claimed the singer was the one who mistakely shot Senzo.

The Empini hitmaker expressed that she would not panic.

“Very serious accusations. I can understand why my PR manager is here,” she said.

“No panic because I don’t deal with panic. If you panic, you don’t think straight,” she continued.

Kelly went on to say that the show must go on despite her team’s concerns.

“Are you going to stop every time someone throws stones at you? Because when you do stop they’ll keep throwing stones. But when you don’t stop they will know that whether they throw stones or not, you will keep going,” she added.
