Kanye West is continuing to stun fans with his creepy face masks, this time wearing a white face mask which appears to be that of a woman’s face during an outing in New York. Many have since compared the mask to something from The Silence of the Lambs.
According to Page Six, Kanye West, who is legally named just “Ye” now, changed out of a standard-issue pandemic-compliant cloth mask to put on the Halloween-ready look, which appeared to include eye shadow during an outing in the Big Apple.
It’s the second time in as many days that has been spotted wearing a mask. He first wore a pale greenish-blue mask on Sunday 17 October in Venice, Italy together with the same all-black Balenciaga getup.
But, for his Monday morning meeting, The Week reports that Kanye made his way to meet Michael Cohen, the former attorney for former President Donald Trump.
Cohen later told Page Six that West was wearing the face mask “so that people would not recognise him,” though the attorney noted this “did not really work”. Cohen didn’t elaborate on what he and the rapper were discussing, saying “we were just getting together,” though PR executive Ronn Torossian told Page Six they met to talk about real estate.
Meanwhile, on 19 October, TMZ also reported that West was seen walking around the city in this mask, describing it as “super light-skinned” while noting he was “even wearing something around his neck to keep the same skin tone from his head to chest.” TMZ added, “No one really knows what the hell he’s up to with these masks.”
West also wore varying masks during his Donda listening events in Atlanta, Georgia, which he even convinced soon-to-be-ex-wife Kim Kardashian to mimic in her own look for one of the album’s listening events and the Met Gala.
