HILDEGARDT WHITES: THE BEGINNING

Hildegardt Whites was born on 6 July 1986, in the picturesque town of Nieuwoudtville, in the captivating Northern Cape of South Africa.

Her roots are deeply embedded in this region, undoubtedly shaping her identity and artistic inclinations.

In 2000, her family embarked on a new chapter as they moved to the enchanting West Coast. Hildegardt’s educational journey began at Northlink College, and after completing her high school education, she wasted no time in pursuing her passion for performance art.

Her studies led her to Cape Town, where she delved into the world of theatre. Her dedication and talent were undeniable as she continued her education at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), also known as Pretoria Technikon.

Here, she honed her skills, preparing herself for the remarkable journey that lay ahead.

LOVE AND LIFE

Beyond the stage and screen, Hildegardt has an equally fulfilling personal life. In 2011, she exchanged vows with musician Kuba Silkiewicz, embarking on a journey of love and partnership.

The couple welcomed their first child into the world in May 2017, adding a new dimension of joy to their lives.

Hildegardt Whites’ rise to stardom was nothing short of remarkable. In her final year of high school, she took on the role of Anita in the musical classic, West Side Story, marking her debut as a theatre actress. The stage had cast its spell on her.

7 DE LAAN

During her time at TUT, Hildegardt ventured into minor roles in stage plays and even appeared in advertisements, laying the foundation for her future in the entertainment industry.

In 2010, the stars aligned as she joined the cast of 7de Laan, where she brought the character of Bonita Basson to life. What began as a temporary role soon became a permanent fixture, spanning a remarkable decade.

Her talent and dedication did not go unnoticed, earning her a nomination for ‘Favourite Newcomer on Television’ at the YOU Spectacular Awards.

MUSICAL TALENT

Hildegardt Whites is more than just a soap opera star; she’s a multifaceted entertainer. Notably, she’s a talented vocalist and a crucial member of the musical band, ‘NOTOWN,’ where she takes the lead as the vocalist.

In 2016, she embarked on her own show, ‘Hilde se Hartsklanke,‘ which aired on Via TV. The series took her back to her roots on the West Coast and Northern Cape, where she embarked on the ambitious journey of recording her first album.

With just 30 days to create 13 songs, Hildegardt collaborated with local musicians to craft the music of her heart.
