Hello Darlings CEO Tasneem Moosa, dubbed the “holiday swindler”, is officially MIA. And it seems more and more victims of her travel agency scam are coming forward with their experiences.

Included in this group is award-winning blogger and influencer Aisha Baker, who herself went on a trip abroad facilitated by Hello Darlings in September 2021.

But the mom-of-two is telling her side of the story, insisting she had “no knowledge” of the scam, which has conned numerous South Africans out of “millions of Rands”.

AISHA BAKER’S INTERACTION WITH HELLO DARLINGS

The award winning blogger revealed that she had been given a partially-paid trip to the Maldives last year by Hello Darlings. This in exchange for an Instagram post about the trip as well as services provided for by the resort.

She shared in an IG post: “I did not receive any cash kickbacks, commissions or profit shares. She agreed to gift us travel if we continued to post about upcoming adverts. I agreed, since I, along with the other guests on the trip, had a fantastic time as we communicated online.

“There were no red flags to my knowledge. We had however never been gifted any more travel”.

Aisha and her family: SA cricketer husband Wayne Parnell and their two children Khalid and Salma went on the trip, which is documented on her Instagram account.

In January 2022, upon coming across reports that Hello Darlings had been accused of scamming travellers, Aisha claims she “immediately” ended her working relationship with Tasneem.

She continued: “As you may recall, I publicly cut ties with the brand in January upon seeing a post with hundreds of reports of bad service. Tazz assured me that this was an administrative issue and she was waiting for refunds from hotels and airlines to refund her clients. Nevertheless, I cut ties with her immediately”.

‘I DEEPLY APOLOGISE’

Aisha took the opportunity to apologise to her 140 000 followers. This after she advertised with services of Hello Darlings.

She continued: “I deeply apologise to my followers who have lost money in this saga. I had no knowledge of Tazz’s unsavoury dealings

“As an individual who is in the business of promoting products and services on social media, we never expected to be conned. A lesson has been learnt here for me as an influencer. I will going forward be extremely careful of who I choose to work with. Even more careful than I already been.

“I hope we can bring Tasneem to justice and recover some of the financial damage done”.
