Helicopter gate: ‘RHOD’s’ Nonku bickers AGAIN about who flew in

Episode seven of the Real Housewives of Durban season three felt a bit like deja vu for avid viewers of the much-talked-about reality TV series as the cast members argued about rich people’s problems, Yes! It was the same old tired story about who flew in with Sorisha and who didn’t. And of course, Nonku was the same instigator she was in season two.

SEASON TWO REFRESHER

For those who may have forgotten what happened in season two, here’s a refresher…

When former cast member Londie invited the ladies to Nambiti Hills, in KwaZulu-Natal, some ladies drove to the getaway resort while others flew in. Among those who flew in was Sorisha — as her wealthy husband, Vivian Reddy, organised a private jet. The former actress had invited MaKhumalo and Jojo (who were newbies at the time) as well as Annie to join her.

However, Nonku did not take kindly to being “outcasted” by Sorisha and confronted her when they caught up that night. Jojo, who was on Sorisha’s side, lashed out at Nonku for being jealous as they had an unnecessary back-and-forth about the issue.

NONKU AND THE HELICOPTER ISSUE

Fast forward to season three when Jojo decides to take the ladies out to the Drakensberg Mountains in KwaZulu-Natal where the RHOD cast served some fun vibes, relaxation and ground versus aircrew drama.

While some ladies drove from Durban to the eastern part of the Great Escarpment, others arrived by helicopter, courtesy of Viv. These include Sorisha, Annie and Slee. Nonku, who arrived the following day, also decided she’d fly in helicopter style — just to rub it into Sorisha’s face that she, too, can fly in.

But even after flying in, Nonku once again had a bone to pick with Sorisha because of who she chose to invite on the flight.

“I was going to ask you to come with me, and when I phoned the pilot, the pilot said Ms Nonku Williams is taking the same one tomorrow,” Sorisha said.

However, Nonku stood up for Jojo as she was not invited this time around and wanted to know why. After Sorisha explained, Nonku sarcastically called Slee a substitute — a word Slee gladly owned.

The argument went from zero to 100 when Nonku told Slee to “shut the f**k up”. The two ladies have been at loggerheads all season, despite Slee being introduced to the group by Nonku.

Jojo, who had been quiet during the argument even though Nonku had been speaking on her behalf, told Sorisha that she was not bothered that she was snubbed a seat in the helicopter. This was after she informed Nonku about the helicopter experience during their bonding session by the pool before the big argument at dinner.

In the end, Nonku said that she wants a chance to iron things out with Sorisha because she feels like there has been negative energy between them.
