FIVE BOMBSHELLS FROM ELON MUSK’S TWEET

1. ELON MUSK REVEALS HE DID NOT HAVE A HAPPY CHILDHOOD

In the beginning of the lenghty tweet, Elon Musk revealed that he grew up in a lower to middle income household, but he did not have a happy childhood.

“I grew up in a lower, transitioning to upper, middle income situation, but did not have a happy childhood. Haven’t inherited anything ever from anyone, nor has anyone given me a large financial gift,” he tweeted.

2. THE BILLIONAIRE REVEALS HE FINANCIALLY SUPPORTS HIS ‘BANKRUPT’ FATHER

Musk also claimed his father ran a successful engineering company for 20-30 years but it fell flat. So, he and his brother Kimbal stepped in to financially support the retired engineer.

“My father created a small electrical/mechanical engineering company that was successful for 20 to 30 years, but it fell on hard times. He has been essentially bankrupt for about 25 years, requiring financial support from my brother and me,” he tweeted.

3. HE STILL FINANCIALLY SUPPORTS FATHER DESPITE ‘BAD BEHAVIOUR’

Musk also revealed that one of the conditions of financially supporting his father was that he does not engage in “bad behaviour”. However, the billionaire noted that he still continued to financially support his son despite the bad behaviour for the well being of his father’s young kids.

Errol has two young children with his step daughter Jana Bezuidenhout. He also has two children with her mother, Heide Bezuidenhout. Errol also had three children with model and dietitian Maye Musk – Elon, Kimbal and Tosca.

4. MUSK DENIES EXISTENCE OF FATHER’S EMERALD MINE

Musk also denies that the emerald mine actually exists, saying that they have never seen it and there has been no records of its existence.

“Regarding the so-called “emerald mine”, there is no objective evidence whatsoever that this mine ever existed. He told me that he owned a share in a mine in Zambia, and I believed him for a while, but nobody has ever seen the mine, nor are there any records of its existence,” he tweeted.

5. HE CREDITS FATHER FOR TEACHING HIM ENGINEERING, MORE

While he seemingly slams his father in most of the tweet, he also credits him for teaching him physics, engineering and construction.

“That said, he does deserve credit for teaching me the fundamentals of physics, engineering and construction, which is more valuable than money, but did not support me financially after high school in any meaningful way” he tweeted.
