‘The guilt was consuming me’: Sonia Booth on cheating scandal

Businesswoman Sonia Booth has opened up about last year’s highly publicised cheating bombshell she dropped about her estranged husband Matthew Booth and his alleged side chick Bongani Mthombeni-Moller.

In an interview with You Magazine, Sonia revealed that she has some regrets.

In a series of scathing posts in November, Sonia shocked fans when she accused the former Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns defender of having an affair.

Sonia claimed that Matthew had been spoiling Bongani with their household savings by taking her out for dinners and baecations and also baking her the infamous cheesecake.

Speaking to You Magazine, the mom-of-two revealed that she regrets exposing the father of her children when she did. She said that her timing was bad because her sons, Nathan and Noah Booth, were writing their year-end exams at the time.

“I beat myself up about that and I really had to do some introspection and take responsibility,” she told the publication.

However, Sonia shared that all is forgiven because she apologised to her sons and they even spoiled her on her birthday in November.

“My boys sent me a voice note that wasn’t just overwhelming, it removed a lot of weight from my shoulders because like I said, the guilt was consuming me,” she said.

When it comes to the scandal itself and exposing her former husband, the ex-model said that she has zero regrets.

“I wrote what I wrote and I stick to it,” she says.

ARE MATTHEW AND BONGANI LIVING TOGETHER?

Last month, Zimoja reported that a source revealed the alleged couple is cohabiting and Matthew has already met Bongani’s family.

However, Bongani rubbished the rumours. The fitness enthusiast also claimed that Matthew and Sonia’s marriage has been over for years.

“Their marriage effectively failed years ago and now I’m being made a scapegoat in the most malicious way. I have had no change in my living situation, so where are we moving in exactly? Matthew filed for divorce. so it’s true that they’re going through the process at the moment. He’s the plaintiff after she made such damning allegations on social media,” ZAlebs reported.

“OMG such lies Matthew has never met my family like that and we didn’t spend the festive season together. This story that Sonia runs with is all a lie,” she added.
