Faith Nketsi’s fraud-accused hubby Nzuzo Njilo slightly off the hook

Controversial businessman Nzuzo Njilo – the husband of influencer and reality TV star, Faith Nketsi’s – has something to smile about after one of his fraud cases was dismissed.

ONE FRAUD CASE AGAINST NZUZO NJILO WITHDRAWN

According to City Press, Njilo’s fraud case was withdrawn on Monday, 5 June, by the Randburg Magistrate’s Court.

The case was brought forward by Lund Industries owners, Blaine Evans and James Stephen’s. The businessmen opened a case of fraud against the Njilo for an outstanding debt of approximately R1 million. The pair allegedly paid him for copper concentrate, which he never delivered in August last year.

“We did legal representations for the withdrawal of the case based on the merits of the case. The representations were considered and successful. I, unfortunately, can’t disclose the contents of the legal representations,” said Njilo’s lawyer, Ofentse Nkgwang.

ANOTHER FRAUD CASE PENDING

However, Njilo – who is the son of the former mayor of Msunduzi Municipality, Themba Njilo – is not entirely off the hook as he is expected to appear at the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on 20 June with his business partner, Kwanda Ntshangase.

According to a statement by KZN police spokesperson, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, Njilo and his accomplice reportedly masqueraded as salesmen who pretended to sell a truck in May 2021.

“The unsuspecting buyer allegedly went and physically viewed the truck at a dealership in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, and later paid the two a substantial amount of money. The truck was never delivered,” read the statement.

In April, Njilo was granted R30 000, while Ntshangase, received R3 000 bail.

According to a police official close to the investigation, they have a water-tight case against the accused.

“Hence the accused also have to report to their local police stations when they wish to leave the province, as part of their bail conditions,” the source told Zimoja.

The bail condition for both the accused was to report to their nearest police stations twice a week and not leave the country or be found on the wrong side of the law.
