Not a clothing line, not an alcohol brand…but rolling papers! Rapper Emtee has ventured into the marijuana business launching his own brand of hemp rolling papers. The Roll Up rapper has always been open about smoking marijuana regularly and even opened up about selling it at a young age.

EMTEE’S RELATIONSHIP WITH MARIJUANA

According to TshisaLive, Emtee has admitted to smoking marijuana since 2012.

In an interview with controversial podcaster MacG in April, Emtee revealed that in the early stages of his career he used to sell marijuana and even gave a sample to his hip-hop colleague Maggz.

When asked how much he made from the sales, the Sama award-winning rapper mentioned that he couldn’t remember how much he’d make a week because “money used to come and go so much”.

“I still have piggy banks that I haven’t touched,” added the rapper.

MISSED OPPORTUNITY?

While most South African hip-hop fans congratulated the rapper on his new business venture, some feel he should’ve named his brand of rolling papers after his smash hit Roll Up. The track cemented Emtee as one of the country’s rising hip-hop stars.

One tweep wrote: “He should’ve named it ‘Roll Up’”.
