Malema X Cassper? Juju to bless 50 followers’ soles with sneakers
The EFF’s Julius Malema is blessing 50 of his followers with Cassper Nyovest’s pricey RF990 sneakers. How much would this cost him?

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema announced that in support of black businesses, he will be giving away 50 pairs of Cassper Nyovest’s RF990 sneakers, via a tweet on Sunday, 15 August.
MALEMA X CASSPER?
The politician took to Twitter on Sunday morning 15 August to offer a pair of sneakers to 50 of his followers who retweeted his post, in support of a black child, black enterprise and a black business. He also added that the winners will receive the sneakers from Cassper Nyovest himself in a venue that will be revealed to the winners directly.
“In support of a Black Child, Black Enterprise and Black Business – The first 50 people to retweet this tweet, using this hashtag: #RF990 and tag @casspernyovest , will get #RF990 sneakers directly from Don Billiato himself, in a venue to be communicated directly to the winners,” wrote Malema on Twitter.
Is this a collaboration between the rapper and Malema? It seems like Cassper Nyovest may not have had prior knowledge on Malema’s gesture. The rapper said it was a great thing to wake up to, as if it were a surprise. Did Malema not consult the Mama I Made It hitmaker beforehand, while promising a meet and a greet? It seems like he hasn’t but the rapper was pleasantly surprised and not upset.

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST MALEMA?
From Malema’s post it seems as if he is buying the sneakers, or someone is buying it on behalf of him as he wishes to show “support” to Cassper Nyovest. So, how much would this cost the politician?
The RF990 sneakers retail for R990 a pair, times 50 pairs equates to R49 500. Here is a look at the sneakers.
This is not Malema’s first charitable offer. Last week the EFF leader announced the handing over of “spacious” houses to “grannies” because he believed bigger houses spoke to women’s dignity as many households are run by matriarchs.
