EFF takes its ‘LERUO’ play to theatres for 10th anniversary [photos]

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is celebrating its 10th anniversary with its ‘LERUO’ play. It has already been on three out of 27 stages.

As part of its 10-year anniversary, The Economic Freedom Fighters political party has recently taken to theatres to showcase its play, LERUO which has left Mzansi divided.

‘LERUO’: EFF IN THEATRE

A member of the EFF, Fana Mokoena gave some details about the LERUO play and said,

“The EFF is recultivating the culture of touring protest theatre. 27 Performances around the country, [and] even in [those] places where theatre is not known, [that’s where] the EFF is taking its stage play LERUO.”

The EFF play has already been performed in Soweto theatre, Springs theatre, and Pretoria’s state theatre. Up next is North West. LERUO will be performed on the 19 May at Potchefstroom Madiba Banquet Hall. According to the play’s pamphlet, LERUO is said to be about a “young woman looking for her freedom is met with the reality of a harsh world.” To see the EFF play, tickets are said to cost R150.

Meanwhile, to celebrate the EFF’s 10th year anniversary is coming up. The political party is set to host a gala dinner on 27 July at Emperors Palace, IOL reported. To sit at the same table with the party’s president Julius Malema, guests will reportedly pay R1.2 million.
