Carte Blanche co-anchor Derek Watts revealed that he was rushed to Mill Park Hospital over a suspected stroke via a tweet on Sunday 2 April. Prayers and well wishes have since been pouring in for the journalist.

DEREK WATTS IS BACK IN HOSPITAL

After revealing he had been diagnosed with severe sepsis Investigative journalist Derek Watts has been admitted back in to hospital, but just for two days. The reason is just for tests.

“To be honest, I’m back in hospital, but just for two days. I moved in this morning. And so, the reason is just [to do] a few more tests to isolate some of the problems with the sepsis. And to have a small procedure,” he said to News 24.

He went on to tell the publication he is feeling better and stronger.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST? 

Watts, who is well known for being the co-anchor on Carte Blanche revealed that he was rushed to hospital over a suspected stroke earlier this month. He is now in recovery and learning to walk again after he was diagnosed with severe sepsis which “destroyed his body within an hour”.

“Morning! Looks scary but collapsed with suspected stroke in Hoedspruit 14 days ago and dispatched to super pro Mill Park Hospital ICU,” he wrote.

“Diagnosed severe Sepsis which destroyed the bod in an hour! So learning to walk again. But back on your #carteblanche screen asap! @MNet @DStv,” he continued.

The journalist later revealed that he is back home and walking short distances.

“Huge thanks to the incredible #CarteBlanche team for filling in for this “small” fellow recovering from Sepsis. Back home four days and now walking unsupported for short distances. 😊.Really appreciated all the messages from viewers. You are the stars ⭐️ of the show,” he tweeted.
