LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault has reclaimed his title as World’s Richest Person just 48 hours after losing it to SA-born billionaire Elon Musk.

French businessman Bernard Arnault has reclaimed the World’s Richest Person title just 48 hours after South African-born billionaire Elon Musk took the spot on Monday 27 February.

Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) CEO Bernard Arnault is once again the World’s Richest Man. He lost his spot to Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk on Monday 27 February. However, he reclaimed the number one position just 48 hours later with a net worth of a whopping $189 billion (R3.4 trillion) — according to Bloomberg Billionaire’s Index.
Musk’s net worth is now $181 billion (R3.2 trillion) — $8 billion R145 billion) less than Arnault. Business Insider reports that Musk lost his number one place after his net worth fell by $2 billion (R36 billion) on Thursday. The drop in net worth is due to a drop in Tesla stock.

On Monday 27 February, Musk’s net worth sat at $187.1 billion (R3.4 trillion) R2 billion ahead of Arnault, whose net worth was then R185 billion.
