On Monday, 22 May, musician Bongekile Simelane, best known by her stage name Babes Wodumo took to Instagram after having been mum on the platform for several months and announced that she was finally back on it which made her online fans and online friends genuinely thrilled.

Babes Wodumo’s husband, Mampintsha—real name Mandla Maphumulo died on 24 December at Durdoc Hospital in Durban after suffering from a second and fatal stroke. He met the Gqom singer at a music studio years ago and has since groomed her for the spotlight and helped her with establishing her career. Together, Mampintsha and Babes Wodumo made hit after hit for years such as Wololo, Elamont, Angisona, and more.

After Mampintsha died, the gqom singer disappeared from Instagram and could only be found on her late husband’s Facebook page. She announced having hacked his phone days after laying the Kwaito star to rest.

On 21 January, she was also reportedly booked at Ora Lifestyle in Pietermaritzburg where she was also said not to have shown up.

But it seems Babes Wodumo has turned a new page. After several months not posting on the social platform, she has returned to her Instagram page and said,

“Talking about a man who fights for me even on the other side 🥰We all make plans but God makes the final decision 🙏My Instagram page is back#”

The Gqom singer’s fans and online friends wished her well and voice that they hoped she would use the platform wisely.
