‘I love you’: Babes Wodumo to Mampintsha amid Metro FM awards
Babes Wodumo had her fans worried when they saw how down she looked at the Metro FM awards. But it seems she was just missing Mampintsha.

The South African Metro Awards took place on Saturday, 6 May in Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga, and while many stars came out in numbers excited to see who would be taking home awards, many viewers voiced that Babes Wodumo appeared out of place and as if she was in her own world.
RIP: BABES WODUMO AND MAMPINTSHA’S RELATIONSHIP
Babes Wodumo—real name Bongekile Simelane lost her husband, and the father to her toddler Sponge on 24 December 2022. Mandla Maphumulo, best known as Mampintsha was said to have succumbed to his death after suffering a stroke at Durdoc Hospital in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The couple met at West Ink Records, and fell deeply in love with one another, Zalebs reported.
Mampintsha who was already an established Kwaito star from the music group Big Nuz assisted Babes Wodumo in breaking into the industry by making hit after hit. Some of the songs the couple worked on together include Babes Wodumo’s first hit song Wololo and Umngan’ Wami.

After the years, the Kwaito superstar and the Queen of Gqom have made headlines accused to have been allegedly using narcotics, and physically assaulting each other, and also rumours of infidelity have swirled around them. However, the couple weathered the storms together until Mampintsha died.
After Mampintsha’s death, Babes Wodumo has been all over the place with her emotions. Not only did she announce that she would hack her late husband’s phone, and actually did it, But, she also revealed that after hacking the phone, she discovered that Mampintsha had also had affairs with some of her friends.

THE QUEEN OF GQOM MISSES HER LATE HUSBAND
Taking to Twitter recently, Babes Wodumo has poured her heart out in front of her fans and online followers and shared that her heart was still longing for Mampintsha.
On Saturday, she took to her timelines and posted a picture of the late Kwaito star and said,
“I love you.”
The next day, she shared a throwback picture of herself, Mampintsha, and their son sitting at a restaurant, and feeding Sponge a strawberry milkshake.
