It was a day of grieving and a celebration of a life when mourners gathered on Saturday 21 January to bid Mampintsha’s mother Zamanguni Gumede goodbye.

The 64-year-old died on Sunday 15 January after reportedly suffering a stroke a few weeks after her son, Big Nuz group member Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, also succumbed to a stroke.

Present at Zamanguni Gumede’s funeral was her daughter-in-law Babes Wodumo who has topped the trendlist on Twitter for her dance moves.

Babes Wodumo also got the opportunity to say a few words at the funeral as she revealed that she covered the costs because she loved her mother-in-law and she wanted her to have a dignified send-off — Daily Sun reports.

“I didn’t do this to show off but wanted to make sure that my mother-in-law gets a dignified funeral. We had our differences but in the end we always made peace. We understood each other. I loved her and I’m glad we made peace,” the Shut Up and Groove hitmaker said.

The mom-of-one also told her inlaws that she will take care of them.

“Today I want to assure you that you will never go hungry when I’m still around. I will be your pillar of strength, you have a sister in me. If you need anything please call me and if you cannot get hold of me do not hesitate to come to my house at Westville. I am prepared to pay for a metered taxi,” said Babes at the podium.
