‘Incorrect’: Sizwe Dhlomo disputes AKA investigation ‘breakthrough’

Sizwe Dhlomo and members of the Megacy have clapped back at a reports of a police ‘breakthrough’ in the murder of rapper AKA.

Sizwe Dhlomo and many Megacy social media users have disputed a report on a police ‘breakthrough’ in the murder investigation of rapper AKA.

Police have reportedly made a “breakthrough” in the murder investigation of AKA – real name Kiernan Forbes and Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane. But South Africans – including celebrity Sizwe Dhlomo – are not buying it.

The duo were shot dead by masked gunmen after dining with a group of friends at Florida Road in Durban on 11 February. 

To date, no arrests have been made.

AKA ‘BREAKTHROUGH’: LATEST NEWS IN MURDER INVESTIGATION

According to sources in a City Press report, police have made the following developments.

  • Confiscation of a firearm used in the murders, a prepaid airtime voucher, and the getaway car used in the hit
  • The knowledge that AKA and Tibz were reportedly followed from the King Shaka Airport to the restaurant – Wish on Florida – where they had their last meal
  • The murders were allegedly linked to a “feared and powerful” KwaZulu- Natail family with ties in the taxi and construction industry.
  • An alleged suspect – found with the murder weapon – has been “strategically charged with other offences as the investigators build a strong case around them in the murder of AKA and his manager.”

SIZWE DHLOMO AND MEGACY SLAMS REPORT

Following the reports, social media – including fans of AKA, named the “Megacy” – have reacted to news of a “breakthrough.”

Sizwe Dhlomo – who spoke at AKA’s memorial service – hit back at the allegations. He tweeted: “Already those sources are incorrect because Tibz & AKA didn’t arrive on the same flight. 

He added: “They weren’t even in Durban for the same reason. Tibz wasn’t even supposed to be in Florida that night. He was supposed to be in uMhlanga”
