AKA loses R10K bet following Man City’s 6-3 thrashing of United

In less than 45 minutes of the Manchester Derby, AKA was already regretting his R10 000 bet as he had his money on Man U to beat Man City.

Musician AKA (real name Kiernan Forbes) is one of the biggest Manchester United supporters and probably believes in the soccer club more than the players believe in themselves judging by his R10 000 bet on Sunday 2 October when the Red Devils took on Manchester City at the Etihad stadium.

The odds were already against AKA as Man City has been in incredible form since their manager Pep Guardiola arrived in 2016. While it’s the complete opposite for their archrivals, Man United, who have been on a trophy drought since 2017.

But, a hopeful AKA — who has seen some improvement in his club since former Bafana Bafana star and former AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy took over as a striker coach — decided a R10 000 on the well-known betting platform, Betway, was the way to go.

After the first half, the Cityzens were 4-0 up after braces from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden.

In the end, Manchester United suffered a heavy 6-3 defeat away from home as hat-tricks from both Haaland and Foden sealed the deal for Man City.

AKA also shared a snap of him and his family, including his mom, Lynn “Glammy” Forbes, and his girlfriend, rapper Nadia Nakai all kitted up in Man United jerseys.

This is not the first time that the rapper has put all his faith in Man united.

In September, the Fela in Versace hitmaker took to his Twitter timeline to show off his R26 000 winnings after betting R10 334 on Manchester United to beat Arsenal in the EPL. The Red Devils celebrated an emphatic 3-1 win over log leaders Arsenal — quickly ending their unbeaten streak this season.
