Barbadian singer Robyn Rihanna Fenty opened up about how hard keeping her pregnancy a secret was, to E! News on 11 February at an event celebrating her Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin brands.

RIHANNA ON KEEPING HER PREGNANCY A SECRET

Rihanna and ASAP Rocky subtly announced her pregnancy with media photos on 31 January. She has since spoken out about how difficult keeping her pregnancy hidden was. The Diamonds hitmaker explained that her friends were surprised when she was not smoking or drinking. 

“It was harder for me to keep it from my posse, because they’re around me, they know my habits,” said Rihanna to E! News.

She also spoke about having cookies and donuts as cravings.

“They’re like, ‘You don’t want something to drink? You’re not smoking?’ And I’m eating all the things I’m not used to eating. They know I hate sweets and I’m all of a sudden asking for cookies and donuts. But finally, I just had to let it all out, and they were all shocked, of course, as the world was shocked as well,” she continued.

RIRI TO HONOUR HER BARBADOS ROOTS WITH BABY NAMES 

Rihanna did not think it was real when she first found out about her pregnancy but now she is happy she can celebrate with everyone.

“When I first found out, it’s not real, you know? I was like, ‘This is not for real, right? And then, it was and it’s almost like you don’t want to get too excited too soon because it’s great news, but you…want to see that it’s going to see its way through. And I’m so glad that we’re this far along and now I can celebrate with everyone,” she added.

Rihanna wants her baby’s name to have ties with hers and ASAP Rocky’s families.

“Rihanna wants her Barbados heritage honored when she names her child, [as well as] ASAP’s roots. hey want both of their cultures included. It is very important to them to keep where they are from passed down to their child,” said a source to US Weekly.
