Bonang Matheba has come under fire after she posted the registration number plate of a woman following a fender bender over the weekend.

The media personality revealed that her luxury vehicle had been “rammed” into by the car, which allegedly sped off afterward.

BONANG DETAILS CAR CRASH

On Sunday 3 July, Bonang took to Twitter to reveal that a female driver of a red Toyota Yaris had bumped into her car.  Bonang posted a pic of the woman and another passenger, with the car registration in full view.

She continued: “Please help me find her”.

But whilst Bonang managed to snap a pic of the driver and her car, she revealed that the woman had reportedly refused to wait to exchange details.

She added: “Could’ve had some manners and waited”.

CRITICISM FROM FANS

But Bonang’s decision to publicly name and shame the driver – and ask fans to track her down – was criticised by many tweeps

Many felt that Bonang had exposed the woman to danger by making her details public knowledge.

Here’s what tweeps had to say:

@TheBlushingMom_: “You honestly didn’t have to post their registration on social media. What she did was wrong but the right thing to have done was to report it to your local police station.  Also, your insurance company should be able to assist in tracking her”

@JoeJoeLFC: “You have her registration and description yet you ask your followers to help find her. What are our police there for? This won’t end well Bonang, slightly disappointed with this”

@Sparda71: “Social media will be the death of us. Did u think about her safety just in general from hijacking or other crimes?”

@Fruit_Days: “That car looks stand still, and its bumper still looks [intact] What happened before the incident !!? Clearly you not telling a full story here… what you doing could put the owner of that car in danger”

@thirsty_sphe: “It’s not the end of the world. Learn to let things slide Bonang”

Twitter

Bonang defended her decision to post the picture, tweeting: “We do both? How’s about that?”.
