‘Taking it too far’: SA on Black Coffee’s son DJing with one hand

‘Just use both hands,’ one person told Black Coffee’s son Esona after watching him DJ using only one arm like his father.

South African DJ Black Coffee is one of the biggest and best artists in the world. This is why it’s no surprise that his son Esona has decided to follow in his footsteps. Taking to social media, the young man shared a video of himself performing in Rotterdam recently. While social media users absolutely loved his set and think that he has a lot of potential to be just as great as his father, many wondered why he was keeping his left hand in his pocket.

A number of people asked whether or not his father had taught him to DJ that way.

DJ Black Coffee’s son mirrors his father’s moves as he shows off his skills

Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, better known by his stage name Black Coffee, has made quite the name for himself as a DJ and it looks like his son Esona Maphumulo is ready to follow in his footsteps.

The young man recently took to his Twitter to share a video of himself showing off his skills in Rotterdam recently.

“Rotterdam brought all the smoke!” he captioned a clip of his performance.

Mzansi is impressed — and confused

While many people loved how great he is, others wondered why he was keeping one hand in his pocket. Take a look at some of those comments:

Esona quickly defended himself and wrote:

“The annoying thing is, I’ve had to be aware and make sure both arms are visible in every bit of media since I started to avoid these kinds of narratives 🥱, now I choose to hold my drink with my left once and they couldn’t wait to attack.”
