‘The queen has arrived’: Beyoncé joins TikTok, gains millions of followers

In her first TikTok video, Beyoncé thanked fans for their support following the release of ‘Break My Soul’. Take a look.

The video-sharing app TikTok has become a global phenomenon and Grammy award-winning singer Beyoncé has joined in on the fun! After Beyoncé released her first original single since 2021, Break My Soul, fans took to social media to share their best dance moves to the track. 

The singer compiled the videos for her first TikTok video, thanking her fans for their support and it is no surprise that she instantly gained millions of followers!

‘BREAK MY SOUL’

Beyoncé stunned fans with the release of her new upbeat dance track, Break My Soul, on 21 June. The catchy tune is the first single ahead of her seventh studio album, Renaissance, set to be released on 29 July. 

The 40-year-old trended on Twitter after releasing Break My Soul and has been streamed more than 61 million times on Spotify. 

The song has been described as “honey to ears” and samples legendary rapper Big Freedia’s Show Me Love

BEYONCÉ JOINS TIKTOK 

The 28-time Grammy-winning singer joined TikTok on Thursday 14 July to thank her fans for supporting Break My Soul. Beyoncé made a compilation video of her fans grooving to the track. 

“Seeing y’all release the wiggle made me so happy! Thank you so much for all the love for Break My Soul! – Love B,” wrote the singer. 

The video has already accumulated just under four million views and Bey has over three million TikTok followers. 

TikTok itself commented on the video writing: “The queen has arrived”.

BEYONCE’S ‘RENAISSANCE’

Beyoncé’s Renaissance comes after The Lion King: The Gift in 2020. Speaking to Metro, a source revealed that the album will have South African pop references. 

“Some of her music videos touch on 90s supermodel glamour and she’s planning to work with some Brits on her new videos and performances,” said the source. 

The album is set to be released on 29 July. The countdown has begun!
